Indonesian Takjil to break the fast in the month of Ramadan

Yelllooo.... The People In The World!!! Welcome to my blog again...

On this occasion, I will share you some information about takjil or can be called food to break the fast in this month of Ramadan. Of course, at the time in this fasting month we want to break with the sweet - sweet and it is recommended to break the fast by eating dates first.

Roadside Stall

Here are my 10 takjil versions that I have obtained at roadside stalls precisely in the Induk Jakabaring Market. And yes, here's my version of 10 takjil Lesgooo!!!

1. Fruit Soup

It has become a habit of Muslims in Indonesia when the holy month of Ramadan comes, fond of consuming refreshing and sweet snacks. One of the culinary that is often found during the fasting month is fruit soup, a drink consisting of various tropical fruits combined with sugar water, milk, and ice cubes. Fruit soup becomes a food that sells well when Ramadan comes.

2. Chocolate buns

This chocolate bun is one of my favorite snacks. Because with a soft texture and smeared with a lot of chocolate is very suitable to be a snack when breaking the fast. And for the price itself is very cheap. Enough with 1 thousand rupiah, you have got 1 piece of chocolate buns.

3. Risoles

In addition to dates and fruit ice, market snacks such as risol are foods that are commonly found at the dinner table when breaking the fast during Ramadan. The outer pastry studded with crispy panir flour with soft filling will become a mouth-watering iftar dish.

4. Srikaya

The next sweet food is srikaya. For this srikaya itself is a common food for the people of palembang city. Srikaya cake is a green cake with a pandan leaf scent with a very soft texture. This striking green cake is made using only sugar, eggs and thick coconut milk.

5. Chocolate doughnuts

The next sweet snack is donut chocolate. This is a food that is favored by young children. With a soft texture and sprinkled with brown meses which is definitely much liked by young children. A chocolate donut is a fried bread-based confection that is either made with, topped with, or filled with chocolate. Donuts and donut-style desserts are popular in many countries around the world.

6. Sugar doughnuts

Similar but not the same as chocolate doughnuts, this sugar donut is a fried food based on a mixture of wheat flour dough, eggs, metega sprinkled with powdered sugar. From my point of view, sugar donuts are better than chocolate donuts because the taste of sugar from sugar donuts is very good compared to chocolate meses from chocolate donuts. However, the opinions of different people are different.

7. Noodles Rujak

Not only sweet foods that I shared, of course there are spicy foods. The spicy food is Noodles rujak. Just like consuming pempek, noodles rujak is also presented with cuko soup with a spicy taste that dominates. The main ingredients of rujak mie in Palembang are made from yellow noodles and are also added to complements such as cucumber slices, toge, and some other concoctions. All these foods are mixed in dishes and then watered with cuko typical palembang.

8. Martabak HAR

Martabak HAR is a typical Palembang egg martabak. Even so, there are some differences between Martabak HAR and martabak eggs in general. The taste of curry soup flushed into this martabak that makes this martabak different and very delicious compared to ordinary egg martabak. The use of the name HAR has its own meaning, because this very familiar food in Palembang was created by Haji Abdul Rozak, who is of Indian descent. Martabak HAR is also not difficult to find because there are about several branches that have spread throughout Palembang, including on Jln. Jend. Sudiman not far from the Great Mosque of Palembang.

9. Pempek Dos Belah

We all know that Pempek is a typical food of palembang city with the basic ingredients of milled fish and sago flour. But there are also those who do not use ground fish, the name is Pempek Dos. This pempek is fried with the contents of rebon shrimp or ebi mixed with sweet soy sauce. This food is a favorite snack today to accompany breaking the fast for the people of Palembang.

10. Cenil

Cenil can be called cetil is a staple food ingredient from Ketela Flour cooked to chewy. What is unique about this cenil cake, in addition to its funny-looking name, is also the chewy, sweet and sometimes sticky taste – sticky wet. Cenil is best to eat when breaking the fast with a cup of tea or coffee. The shape of the cenil varies, some are oblong, round, and square, depending on the taste of each maker.  The colors are also diverse and usually one serving is made more than one color, so that when served cenil cake looks colorful and interesting. In the process of serving this food, it is usually mixed with finely grated coconut meat, some bananas that are cut into small pieces, and sweet glutinous lontong. Cenil is usually served with mustard, which is a fine kettle cut.

That is the typical culinary from various regions in Indonesia that can only be found during the month of Ramadan. So, make sure you don't miss the opportunity to eat the delicious variety of dishes above during the fasting month. During takjil hunting, do not forget to stick to health protocols as well. Keep wearing a mask, wash your hands, and keep your distance!

And of course if you have been there, you can tell which experiences and facilities are your favorite... You can write in the comments section below. Thank You And Peace ✌
