Step Into The Past : Benteng Kuto Besak Palembang

Yelloooo... The people in the world!!! Welcome back again to my blog channel...

How are you all??? I hope you are all well during this pandemic. After 1 week ago we discussed about Monpera Palembang, now we move on which is not far from Monpera Palembang. None other than the Benteng Kuto Besak Palembang 👏👏👏

Yes... Benteng Kuto Besak Palembang. Just like before, this time I will explain some information about Kuto Besak Fort using the 5W+1H method. I hope that with this method, all of you can more easily understand the information I convey regarding the discussion that I will bring now. And right away without wasting time, let's go straight to the point in this discussion. lesssgooo....👊👊👊

1. What is Benteng Kuto Besak Palembang?

Before we dive into the discussion of the beauty of the Benteng Kuto Besak in Palembang, it is better if we first understand the brief history of the Benteng Kuto Besak. The initial idea for the construction of Benteng Kuto Besak actually existed since the time of Sultan Mahmud Badarudin I. However, the construction could only be realized in 1780 during the reign of Sultan Mahmud Muhammad Bahaudin.

Before the establishment of Benteng Kuto Besak, the area was originally a palace area which became the center of the Palembang Sultanate, in the XVIII century.

Furthermore, after Benteng Kuto Besak was established, the fort (Benteng) had a function other than as a defense from invaders' attacks, on the other hand as a residence for the Sultan and his family.

Benteng Kuto Besak was officially used on February 21, 1792. Currently, Benteng Kuto Besak Palembang, or also known as BKB is occupied by the Sriwijaya Military Regional Command.

2. Where is Benteng Kuto Besak Palembang located?

Benteng Kuto Besak is located not far from the Palembang Ampera Bridge, and faces the Musi River in Palembang.

The address for the Benteng Kuto Besak is on Sultan Mahmud Badarudin Street, 19 Ilir, Bukit Kecil District, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province.

The very strategic location of Kuto Besak Fort has made it one of the favorite tours for the people of Palembang in particular. Despite the fact that many also come from outside Palembang.

3. When is the greatest time to visit it?

In my opinion, the best time to visit Benteng Kuto Besak is at night. Because of what? Because at night there is a night market that is always in the field in the photo above. However, the question is whether in the morning or afternoon is not recommended?. The answer is no. At that time we can enjoy the view and relax in the seats that have been provided for us or maybe your family who wants to visit.

Besides at night, Kuto Besak Fort is not as busy as at night. Because there's not much we can do in the morning.

4. Why we have to visit Benteng Kuto Besak?

The many kinds of tours that exist in the Benteng Kuto Besak area, make it a tourist destination that presents a different sensation in terms of the time of visit.

And here are the tourist activities that can be done at Benteng Kuto Besak:

1. Forts (Benteng), and Historic Objects

The first attraction, of course, is the existence of a historic fort, a fort that was not built by the Dutch. Because most of the forts in Indonesia were built by the Dutch.

Inside the Benteng Kuto Besak area, there is a museum, as well as other historical objects, such as cannons, and other historical buildings.

2. View Ampera Bridge, And Musi River

It's a good idea to visit the Benteng Kuto Besak by spending time until the evening. When BKB's operating hours are closed, the fun of tourism does not stop, it is even more crowded.

The atmosphere outside the Kuto Besak Fort in the afternoon into the evening is getting busier. The scenery around the area is very beautiful, combined with the twinkling night lights that will spoil the eyes of visitors.

This area is the best spot to enjoy the charm of the beauty of the Ampera Bridge and the Musi River in Palembang. As well as a cool photo background.

3. Belido Iwak Monument

There is a visitor's favorite selfie spot called Tugu Iwak Belido. A monument, or a giant fish statue, in the form of a fish typical of the Musi River which is starting to become rare.

Belido fish is famous as a very delicious fish, as well as a raw material for making Palembang's special culinary, namely Pempek.

5. Who should visit Benteng Kuto Besak?

Of course all of you. All of you who have read this blog article both in the Palembang city area and outside.

6. How to get to Benteng Kuto Besak?

After reading carefully, I'm sure you will be interested in visiting Benteng Kuto Besak. The road to BKB Palembang is quite easy to access. The distance from Palembang City Square is only 4 kilometers, with a travel time of 10-15 minutes via Jalan Veteran.

In addition, Kuto Besak Fort is very close to 16 Ilir Market. The access road to Kuto Besak Fort can be passed by two-wheeled vehicles, as well as four-wheeled vehicles.

Additional Information

Tourist facilities at Kuto Besak Fort if in the fort area there are museums, and other historical objects. But if outside BKB, there are many facilities that can be enjoyed by visitors. As:

1. Spacious parking area,

2. festival spots,

4. Who should visit Monpera Palembang?

I believe that everyone should go to Monpera, not just Palembang residents, but also people from other parts of Indonesia and even other nations. History buffs in Indonesia, as well as those from other countries, should pay a visit to Monpera and learn firsthand about the history of battle in Palembang. Aside from that, it may provide visitors with information on Palembang's past. Aside from that, it can provide visitors with the its history.

5. When is the greatest time to visit Monpera Palembang?

The greatest times to visit Monpera, in my opinion, are in the morning and evening. What is the reason for this? Because the air is still cool in the morning, tourists can exercise here. Monpera is also a great site to snap pictures at night because it is lit up with lights that elegantly embellish the town. I believe that the greatest time to visit Monpera is in the afternoon, especially during Ramadan. Because guests can take in the sights and sounds of Monpera while waiting for iftar.

The new face of Monpera Palembang is now increasingly visited by the public because it is considered interesting and suitable for taking selfies. The historical monument has now changed its appearance and has become an icon and pride of the people of Palembang. The new face of Monpera Palembang provides many new facilities such as playgrounds, photo spots, seating with small rivers and others. Not to forget there is still a museum in the large building monpera.

Family Recreation Park - About Facilities Kambang Iwak Park (Check This Out)

Yelllooo.... The People In The World!!! Welcome to my blog again...

Here I will tell you about the facilities in Kambang Iwak Park in Palembang. I went to Kambang Iwak Park with my friends. We go around on a leisurely walk while circling Kambang Iwak park. During our trip around Kambang Iwak, we saw a lot of seeing some facilities, snacks, communities, families and many others found in the Kambang Iwak park in the afternoon. Before I explained some of the facilities contained in the Kambang Iwak park, I will briefly explain about this Kambang Iwak park.

This is Me :)

Kambang Iwak Park or commonly also called KI Park is a city park located in Palembang, and is a favorite place for local residents to spend time with family, friends, or other communities. The presence of Kambang Iwak Park in the middle of Palembang City makes it a thirst reliever amid the boisterous and tired daily activities. So that this park is never empty of visitors even though corona is currently sweeping Indonesia.

Kambang Iwak Park is a public facility, so there is no specific time limit regarding its opening hours. The park is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Likewise with the park entrance ticket, we do not need to spend money to pay for the entrance ticket of Kambang Iwak Park.

Kambang Iwak comes from the local language which means Fish Pond, because indeed the lake in the middle of this park is also functioned as a fish pond. Many visitors come to visit Kambang Iwak Park to relax and enjoy the beauty of the park with the shade of the trees. Not only that, there are also many public facilities provided from the Kambang Iwak park. Here are some of the things I took, among others:
